I guess I should start by telling you that this is going to be a place for me to vent, rant, rejoice, cry, and track ALL the ups and downs of my experiences with Crossfit....and the community that comes along with it.
I'll keep my first post short and sweet, with a little introduction about myself. I guess I've always been active: a swimmer in high school, and then a gym rat in university and the (many) years following that.A friend of mine convinced me to take an Olympic lifting course at my local YMCA a few years ago, and, I WAS HOOKED! I picked up the movements quickly, and I then spent some time working on the lifts (alone!) after the course ended. I even did a couple of oly lifting competitions. When another friend of mine opened a box about a year and a half ago, I apprehensively joined: I loved my oly lifting, but I wanted just a little bit more variety than what I was doing. This should go without saying -- I absolutely loved EVERYTHING about Crossfit and had found a new passion after my first week!
So that brings us to today: I'm an average crossfitter with a competitive drive....and I hope you like my blog!
